Just for the Halibut pairs fish with lump crab, spinach, a potato cake and sun-dried tomato beurre blanc. Another Southern-influenced plate combines North Carolina shrimp and grits with crab, andouille and Cajun beurre blanc. The kitchen also offers a pan-seared chicken breast with Carolina Gold rice, field peas and local greens.
Kim and Jon Dressler opened their first restaurant in 2003 and added this Charlotte location in 2010. Their hospitality story began when they met while working at a Charlotte steakhouse. That background remains visible in the menu’s substantial steak selection, but the restaurant’s identity includes family ownership and long relationships with returning guests.
Dinner is upscale in price, especially when choosing an à-la-carte filet or ribeye with separately ordered sides. The Metropolitan setting provides patio views toward Uptown and private spaces for larger occasions. At-table wine tastings are offered Monday through Wednesday; confirm the current program when reserving if tasting wines is part of the evening.
