The original Phat Burrito opened in 1998 and closed in 2017, before returning at its current address in August 2023. New owner Michael Cox aimed to preserve familiar recipes while giving the business another home.
The California Burrito includes yuca fries, guacamole and a choice of protein, while the Island version adds mango salsa, slaw and tomatillo ranch. Phat Wrap Supreme surrounds a crispy tostada with beef, beans and a grilled-cheese crust. Grilled vegetables and tofu sit alongside chicken, pork, steak and seafood among the customizable fillings.
Most burritos and bowls are moderately priced and include chips and salsa, although premium proteins and additions raise the total. The meal-prep section sells rice, beans, proteins and sauces by the pint or quart for assembling food at home. Sweet empanadas filled with mango or dulce de leche offer a different finish from the menu’s caramel-dipped mini churros.
