The restaurant has served Charlotte since 1955, outlasting decades of changes along Independence Boulevard. In a May 2026 visit, CharlotteFive writer Evan Moore described ordering through the speaker beside a covered parking space. He also noted the newspaper clippings and plaques inside, small reminders of the drive-in's place in the city's food history.
The Super Boy is a double hamburger dressed with mustard, onion, lettuce and tomato, with fries included. The direct menu lists that meal below ten dollars; the Jumbo Cheeseburger adds cheese for only a little more. Fish-O-Burger goes another way, placing two trout fillets in a bun with tartar sauce, slaw and fries alongside.
Daily specials change the rhythm of the week: hamburger steak appears Tuesday and Thursday, while fried trout is offered Wednesday and Friday. Boston cream, pecan and apple pies join four milkshake flavors for dessert. Tuesday service ends at 3 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday run into the evening, and the restaurant closes on Sunday and Monday.
