Blake Barnes started the original Common Market in 2002 with the idea of a modern neighborhood general store. A deli and then a bar expanded what the place could offer. The shelves still reflect that mixed identity, with local provisions, gifts and drinks sharing space with the food counter rather than a conventional restaurant setup.
Fully Loaded puts eggs, grits, hash browns, pimento cheese and a chosen protein in a breakfast wrap. Later sandwiches include Darby’s Roast Beef Deluxe with cream cheese and horseradish, and Cucumber Crunch with hummus and chili crunch. Vegbano uses smoky tofu and vegan cheddar, illustrating the deli’s substantial plant-based selection.
The Plaza Midwood store stays open into the night, but made-to-order deli service ends at four in the afternoon. Breakfast has its own earlier cutoff, with a longer window on Sundays. There is a small parking lot behind the building plus street parking, and dogs are welcomed on the patio; use this branch’s monthly updates for specials and events.
