Panos and Toula Photopoulos met in Chicago after moving separately from Greece. Panos worked his way from washing dishes to managing the dining room while attending English classes at night. After two decades in Chicago, the couple moved to Charlotte to be closer to family, bringing that restaurant experience with them.
The weekday specials follow a deliberate rotation. Monday offers spaghetti or red beans and rice; Tuesday moves to chicken and shrimp Creole, and Thursday brings baked chicken with mashed potatoes. Garlic bread and iced tea accompany the specials. Friday is the day for she-crab soup, so that particular order depends on when you visit.
The Greek salad includes Kalamata olives, pepperoncini and feta with homemade dressing, while a marinated portobello pita adds tzatziki to a meat-free sandwich choice. Sunday is usually a closed day, with exceptions for special events and Panthers or Charlotte FC home games. Checking the game-day menu makes sense before treating a match-day visit like an ordinary weekday lunch.
