Hawthorne’s began in 2004, founded by owners from New York who wanted to build a family business around pizza. The restaurant’s own account describes owners working alongside employees, from answering phones to folding boxes.
The Luau pizza combines pineapple with bacon, ham, smoked pulled pork and caramelized onions. The Basil Mozzarella pizza uses an olive-oil-and-garlic base with tomatoes, fresh basil and balsamic glaze. Beyond the oven, Cajun pasta brings chicken, shrimp and Italian sausage together in a cream sauce, while the house salad adds Mandarin oranges and candied pecans.
Sharing an eighteen-inch cheese pie keeps the meal economical, and individual calzones offer another inexpensive route. Specialty toppings and pasta move the order into a moderate price range. The children’s selection includes grilled chicken with broccoli as well as pizza, making it easier to feed a table whose tastes do not all match.
