The Porter's House

Pimento cheese beignets arrive with bacon aioli, and the sausage board brings andouille and wild boar together with pickled vegetables and country bread. Short rib comes with port wine-cola jus and pecan gremolata.

Steaks are priced individually, with family-style accompaniments such as collards in smoked-bacon potlikker and cavatappi in Mornay sauce. The large porterhouse is presented as a shareable cut with potatoes, farm vegetables and sauces. This is an expensive dinner destination, especially when seafood additions and extra sides join the main order.

The restaurant's name refers to the personal hospitality associated with porters, a theme also reflected in its bourbon room. Groups can use three private rooms individually or together, with a smaller semi-private area available as well. The patio has covered tables, soft seating and a heater, providing another setting for an evening meal at the Waverly Walk address.
