Mad Greek of Charlotte

The Mad Greek first opened its doors in 1991, founded by Chris and George Limberakis — two brothers from the beautiful island of Lefkada, Greece. They brought with them not only authentic Greek recipes but a deep passion for hospitality and sharing their culture with the Charlotte community. Over the years, the Limberakis family built a beloved neighborhood restaurant rooted in tradition, quality, and family values. In 2024, a new generation of Greek-American restaurateurs proudly took over the Mad Greek. Kostas Pitsonis, originally from Athens, Greece, and his son Yianni Pitsonis, born and raised right here in Charlotte, are now leading the way. Our mission is to honor the legacy built before us while introducing fresh energy, flavors, and experiences to the restaurant — always staying true to our Greek roots. Whether you’ve been dining with us for decades or it’s your first visit, we thank you for being a part of our story.
