Ostrich meatloaf is one of the menu’s less predictable choices, made with meat from Misty Morning Ranch in Robbins, North Carolina, and served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and gravy. The shepherd’s pie uses ground lamb, peas, carrots, and onions beneath a crisp potato topping.
The pub has operated since 1996, tucked behind the shopping center rather than on its main frontage. Twenty-ounce beer pours and a whiskey selection reinforce its identity as a place to spend time as well as eat. Bangers and mash and Irish potato cakes connect the food to that pub tradition.
Meatless choices are worked into several parts of the moderately priced menu. A portabella Reuben uses Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing; the curry can be ordered with organic tofu instead of chicken. Burgers and sandwiches include a side, making their listed price more useful when comparing meal options.
