Advertising & Disclosures
The Dining Compass may pursue advertising, sponsorships, complimentary experiences, affiliate links, partnerships, or other commercial relationships. A relationship that could affect how a reader evaluates content will be disclosed clearly and near the applicable recommendation, article, placement, or link.
How disclosures will appear
- Sponsored: paid content or paid placement will be identified as “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” or similarly clear language.
- Affiliate link: a link that can earn us a commission will be identified near the link or relevant recommendation.
- Hosted or complimentary experience: a free or discounted meal, service, or other benefit connected to coverage will be disclosed with that coverage.
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships do not justify unsupported statements or remove the need for accuracy. We keep sponsored placements distinct from the factors used to generate editorial recommendations, as described in our Methodology.
Current status
When a commercial relationship is active, the relevant content will carry its own disclosure. If you have a question about a specific placement or link, contact us through the Contact & Corrections page.
