Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of The Dining Compass website. By using it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Restaurant guidance, not a guarantee

The Dining Compass provides editorial and practical dining guidance for general informational purposes. Restaurant hours, menus, pricing, availability, accessibility, reservations, and other facts can change. Confirm time-sensitive details directly with the restaurant or relevant provider before relying on them. We do not guarantee any restaurant's services, safety, quality, suitability, or availability.

Independent editorial approach

Our methodology explains how we develop restaurant guidance. Paid placements, free meals, affiliate links, and other material relationships, if used, will be identified as described in our Disclosures. They do not turn an unsupported claim into a fact.

Third-party services

Links may take you to restaurants, reservation platforms, delivery providers, maps, or other third parties. Those sites and transactions are between you and the third party. The Dining Compass is not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or practices.

Acceptable use and intellectual property

You may use the site for personal, lawful purposes. Do not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, scrape it at scale, or reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit its original content without written permission, except as permitted by law. Restaurant names, marks, menus, images, and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners.

Messages and Corrections

You are responsible for information you send us. By submitting a correction or message, you allow us to review it and use it to respond, investigate, and improve factual site content. Do not send confidential, financial, health, or other sensitive information through the forms.

Disclaimers and limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. The Dining Compass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may change the site or these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms. North Carolina law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
