This policy explains how The Dining Compass handles information connected with this website. Questions or privacy requests may be sent through our Contact & Corrections page or to mchantry16@gmail.com.
Information we receive
When you use a Contact or Corrections form, the form opens your email application. We receive the name, email address, and message you choose to send. The website does not submit those form fields to its own server.
The site also stores limited first-party usage events in your browser, including a randomly generated session identifier, pages viewed, searches, and restaurant or link interactions. These events are stored in your browser's local or session storage for the current product experience; they are not currently transmitted to The Dining Compass through this website.
How we use information
We use contact messages to respond to questions, evaluate factual Corrections, and improve the site. We use browser-stored usage information to understand how the finder is used. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers and external links
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests those files. Restaurant, reservation, menu, delivery, and other third-party links are governed by the destination's policies, not this one.
Your choices
You can clear or block local and session storage through your browser settings; doing so may reset site preferences or browser-stored analytics. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information in an email message we hold, subject to legal and operational needs.
Children
The Dining Compass is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Security, retention, and changes
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. We keep email correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described above, to maintain records, or to meet legal obligations.
